Terms of Service
RapidE – Emergency Index
Effective date: 19 April 2026
Plain-English summary: RapidE is a safety assistance app, not an emergency dispatch or medical service. These terms explain the rules for using the app, what you can expect from paid plans and emergency tools, and the limits on our responsibility.
Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of RapidE, including the RapidE mobile application, related services, and any content or features made available by Solutions Through Technology.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using RapidE, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use RapidE.
Important safety notice
- RapidE is an information and assistance tool. It is not an emergency dispatch service, public safety authority, or medical provider.
- RapidE does not guarantee emergency response, responder availability, or any particular outcome.
- RapidE does not place emergency calls or dispatch emergency services on your behalf unless a specific feature explicitly says so.
- In a life-threatening emergency, call the official emergency number for your location immediately.
- Emergency numbers, nearby services, and other safety information may be incomplete, outdated, unavailable, or unsuitable for your situation.
- Some features depend on permissions, mobile service, SMS capability, GPS availability, battery level, operating system behavior, or internet connectivity.
You are responsible for using your own judgment and acting safely.

- We may require device registration, entitlement checks, or account verification to enable paid or security-sensitive features.
Permissions and device features

- If you deny or revoke permissions, some features may be unavailable, limited, or unreliable.
- Emergency tracking or automated SMS updates may not work.
- Location-aware emergency information may be degraded or unavailable.
You remain responsible for checking that the app is functioning as expected on your device before relying on optional features.
Emergency tracking and safety features
RapidE may offer emergency tracking, planned tracking, Next of Kin notifications, location sharing, and similar tools.
- Tracking and messaging features may fail or be delayed due to device, network, carrier, battery, permission, or operating system limitations.
- SMS messages may be sent through your device and mobile carrier, and normal carrier charges may apply.
- Recipients you configure may receive location, battery, and other emergency-related information that you choose to share through the app.
- Background behavior may differ by Android version, device brand, OEM battery policy, or system restrictions.
- Safety features are aids only and not guarantees of protection, response, or delivery.
Subscriptions, billing, and Google Play
RapidE may offer free and paid plans, including tiered features such as Basic, Pro, or Prime.
- Billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, family sharing eligibility, and payment handling are governed by Google Play terms, policies, and your Google Play account settings.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel through Google Play before the renewal date.
- We may validate purchase status, entitlement status, and device eligibility before enabling paid features.
- Pricing, taxes, billing periods, promotional offers, and regional availability may vary by country, storefront, and time.
- We may change pricing or plan structure prospectively as permitted by applicable law and Google Play rules.
Unless required by law or Google Play policy, fees already paid are non-refundable.
Trials, promotions, test features, and preview access
- Offers may be limited by geography, device, tester status, email allowlist, time period, or abuse-prevention rules.
- Offers may be changed, suspended, or withdrawn at any time, subject to applicable law.
- Offers are made at our discretion.
- Offers must not be abused, resold, or used to circumvent normal billing or entitlement rules.
Privacy, data export, and deletion
Your use of RapidE is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
- Deleting app data on your device may remove settings, saved contacts, cached content, or local history.
- Deleting your account or server-side profile may remove entitlements, profile information, and related records, subject to legal retention obligations.
- Some information may be retained where required for fraud prevention, accounting, security, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
- Exported data may contain personal information that you are responsible for storing securely once exported.
Third-party services
RapidE relies on third-party services and platforms, including Google Play Billing, Firebase services, mobile carriers and SMS infrastructure, mapping providers, geolocation services, and device operating systems.
We are not responsible for outages, acts, omissions, pricing, data practices, or policy changes of third-party services. Links to third-party sites or services are provided for convenience only and do not imply endorsement.
Intellectual property and feedback
RapidE, including its software, design, text, graphics, branding, datasets, and other content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use RapidE for your personal lawful use. You do not obtain ownership of the app or any intellectual property rights by using it.
If you send us suggestions, ideas, bug reports, or other feedback, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to use that feedback to improve RapidE without any obligation to compensate you, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Suspension and termination
- We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to all or part of RapidE if you violate these terms.
- We may act if we believe misuse, abuse, fraud, or security risk exists.
- We may act if continued operation is unlawful or unsafe, or if a feature, plan, test program, or service is discontinued.
- You may stop using RapidE at any time by uninstalling it and canceling any active subscription through Google Play.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including billing already incurred, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and dispute-related provisions.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RapidE is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim, to the extent permitted by law, all warranties and representations, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
- We do not warrant that emergency numbers, locations, nearby services, or datasets are accurate, complete, or current.
- We do not warrant that messages, alerts, calls, notifications, or location updates will be delivered or received.

- We do not warrant that the app will be free from bugs, downtime, or delays.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Solutions Through Technology and its officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, use, business, or opportunity, arising out of or related to RapidE or these terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for claims arising out of or related to RapidE or these terms will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us for RapidE in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or ZAR 500. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable consumer or other mandatory law.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Solutions Through Technology and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of RapidE, your violation of these terms, your violation of law or the rights of a third party, or information or content you submit through the app or support channels.
Changes, governing law, and disputes
We may update RapidE and these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we may provide notice through the app, Google Play listing, or another reasonable method. Your continued use of RapidE after the updated terms become effective means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory local consumer law in your place of residence applies instead.
Any dispute not resolved informally will be subject to the courts with competent jurisdiction in South Africa, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
